With the help of our team of animal orthopaedic specialists, The Veterinary Hospital is considered by many to be the main centre of excellence for orthopaedic & dog bone surgery in the Gulf.

Dr. Ruben Arias del Rio B.V.Sc., M.R.C.V.S. is our senior soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeon, having a special interest in Orthopaedics and Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome reconstruction.

Together with his many years of surgical experience, and having worked with ‘The Super Vet’, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick in the U.K., Dr. Ruben has acquired unique specialist experience in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.

Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) technique for cranial cruciate ligament rupture repair.

This is one of the latest techniques in correction of this common stifle (knee) injury, using an implant to re-distribute the angle and forces acting through the stifle.
